Alexis’ first tournament

December 13, 2011

Well…since we post a lot of tournaments/games for the boys, it seems only fair to include one for lil’ miss.   She had her first gymnastics tournament this past weekend and had a blast.  All the little ones were winners!  They let them wear Santa hats and performed their routines to Christmas music.  It was adorable!

7th & 3rd

August 24, 2011

Yesterday was the first day of school for Landon and Spencer. We had our annual tradition of pancakes for breakfast! Landon started 7th grade and Spencer is now in 3rd. Spencer was thrilled to learn that he has his favorite teacher again, and Landon was not as thrilled to begin his school days with 7am football practices.

Alexis wanted to jump in the pictures and I told her that she will start Pre-K next week. She said, “but I want to be in the middle!”, so we took another shot with Miss Priss.

The boys both had good reports after the first day, and I’m sure I will have more pics to post soon of Alexis’ first day of school. More pancakes to come next Monday….

Summer Vacation 2011

July 23, 2011

We took the kids to San Antonio this week with Grandaddy and Nana. We went to Sea World, Natural Bridge Caverns, Schlitterbahn, the Riverwalk and back to school shopping in San Marcos. Whew! It was a great week and it even rained in SA while when we were there. We also found a yummy gelato place by our hotel that we frequented almost everyday while we were there.

Alexis Fourth Birthday Party

June 6, 2011

This weekend, we celebrated Alexis’ fourth birthday with a Minnie Mouse party. Gannie came over at 8am Friday and we began to make Minnie Mouse treats. (thank you Bakerella and Patty Cakes Bakery Blogs) All of these goodies were way more time consuming than I imagined. Clearly, I underestimate how long a task actually takes. This has always been a flaw of mine.

Grandaddy, Nana and Aunt Bibi arrived. We celebrated Grandaddy’s birthday Friday night, so this was a weekend of celebrations.

The morning of the party, Daddy set up a mouse hole, yard signs, as well as a banner. (Thank you Sara) We played pin the bow on Minnie, made bracelets and a scrapbook page. It was very cute and the girls all had a great time. After the party, I asked Alexis what her favorite part was. She said, “The cheese.” Success!

More May events

June 4, 2011

Spencer’s flag football team made it to the Championship game. This is the same team he played with this fall. During overtime, Spencer made and interception in the end zone, The Steelers got the ball back and scored! It was a great game and Spencer is ready to play tackle again.

Alexis had her first teeth cleaning last week. She has been for a couple of happy visits with the boys, but this is the first time she let them clean her teeth. (thank you fabulous hygienist She watched Scooby Doo and then mommy got her teeth cleaned. The highlight of the morning was picking treasure and getting a bag of goodies.

Alot to catch up on

June 4, 2011

It has been crazy around here the past couple of weeks, so I shall attempt to catch up on posts, starting with Landon’s band concert at Sandy Lake. They did a wonderful job at their performance, and were then able to ride the rides. I was able to snap a few shots of Alexis and Spencer on rides, but spared Landon the embarrassment of following him around with a camera.

Then we celebrated Gannie’s birthday and were also able to squeeze in a visit with Uncle Aaron. We took her to Season’s 52.

Next, we spent a day at Six Flags. The boys rode the new Texas Giant while Alexis and I hung out on the boot ride. (She rode it 6 times) AB also took the boys to ride the Dive Bomber Alley while Gannie, Alexis, and I stayed safely on the ground to watch.

Spring Break and tonsils

March 12, 2011

Alexis has had several throat infections and so the tonsils were set to come out yesterday. She was spoiled by some wonderful people at my office….she got a bumble bee pillow, Hello Kitty blanket, coloring books, colors, LadyBug pillowpet, Olivia doll, stickers and more! She woke up yesterday morning with a low grade fever and said her throat hurt so we were so glad we decided to have this done over Spring Break. She was such a big girl! She got the “silly” medicine before they took her back and she was hilarious. Daddy and I were able to be with her in recovery. She woke up and wanted her daddy and they took both of them upstairs on the hospital bed (pretty sweet) She had macaroni and chocolate ice cream for dinner and so far has received two Wendy’s chocolate Frostys. We got to come home this morning and she is doing wonderfully. The toughest part is getting her to rest at this point. Thanks so much for all your prayers. We are so grateful that she is healing and doing so well! BTW….Emerson(her imaginary friend) got her tonsils out yesterday as well. Alexis says she is doing good but she hurts and apparently also suffers from a broken leg.

Snow Days

March 12, 2011

Sorry so late in posting these….our four days at home last month were wonderful! We played lots of card games, lots of hot chocolate and fun in the snow.

Disney 2011

January 18, 2011

We went to Disney last Saturday, January 8th. We spent Saturday at Downtown Disney and ate at T-Rex. It was a neat restaurant like Rainforest Cafe, only with dinosaurs! Alexis loved it so much she fell asleep at the table. Landon built his own custom RC car at RideMakerz and Spencer got a deluxe Mr. Potato Head and a magic trick….

ask him to demonstrate! The next morning we had a breakfast with the princesses and this was the highlight of the trip for Alexis. She was able to meet Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White and Ariel! We spent the morning at Epcot and the afternoon at the Magic Kingdom. On Monday we went to Animal Kingdom. The kids got their faces painted and rode the new ride, Expedition Everest and then headed over to Hollywood Studios. The new Toy Story ride was my favorite! Everyone flew home on Tuesday and I stayed in Orlando to attend Children’s Pastor Conference. It was a great conference, but after a week away I was ready to get home!
